Application products: EXAIR 4th generation super ion gas knife
Application goal: EXAIR 44th generation super ion air knife to remove the annoying dust in the manufacturing process of crepe paper!
Problems encountered by customers:
A paper mill is currently experiencing errors due to static electricity from weighing instruments (see figure below). The 152mm wide ultra-thin paper they produce is easy to be ashed when measuring weight by a measuring machine. The weight of each of these ultra-thin papers is about 14 g/m2, which is about the same weight as the daily use of facial tissue, and it is easy to produce errors in the measurement. When they inspected the weighing instrument, it was found that dust was attached to the optical lens, which was the cause of the error. Because the basis weight of the crepe paper is too small, any dust can cause reading error problems. So they contacted the United States to find a solution.

The static electricity generated by fiber materials that are as dry as crepe paper is indeed a headache. Static electricity has a powerful "adsorption" capability that allows tiny objects to "stick" to the surface of the object. As shown in the photo, a large amount of dust particles are adsorbed on the side of the instrument and on the measuring lens. For this situation, I Love Engineer recommended the US 4th generation Super Ion Air Knife Kit Model 112206. The unique design of the 4th generation Super Ion Air Knife has two advantages, integrating static elimination and dust removal. The positive and negative ions produced by the 4th generation super ion bar can remove any type of static charge. The 4th generation super ion air knife blows out a flaky air curtain with positive and negative ions, and the air is evenly removed to effectively remove the dust attached to the surface. This combination design makes it an efficient non-contact destaticizing dust removal tool. Another advantage is that the paper is very thin and easy to break and damage. The United States 4th generation super ion air knife non-contact static elimination method is undoubtedly the best choice! They only need to install a super ion air knife on the top and bottom of the paper to blow away dust particles and prevent dust particles from entering the measuring instrument.

Recommended solution:

The US 4th Generation Super Ion Air Knife Kit includes a super air knife with ion bar, power supply/filter/controller and a set of gaskets. The power supply is specifically designed for this 4th generation static eliminator. The US 4th generation super ion air knife works to remove static electricity from the paper at a speed of 15 meters per second. The filter filters the impurities and water contained in the compressed air before entering the super ion air knife to ensure compressed air. Purity; the gasket kit contains three different thickness gaskets with thicknesses of 0.03MM/0.08MM and 0.1MM. They were used to replace the gasket with a fixed venting thickness of 0.05 mm, which can change the flow rate of the blown air. Since the crepe paper is very thin, we will choose a gasket with a thickness of 0.03MM to be installed inside; the regulator can ensure that the air knife is in the best working condition and protect the crepe paper from being blown.

The customer chooses to install the super ion air knife at the inlet of the weighing equipment. The airflow with positive and negative ions will neutralize and eliminate static electricity, thus obtaining accurate measurement values, and the troubles will be solved.
